A lot of brands have tried to advertise using bloggers. Only a few have been succesful, because only a few have gotten it right.
It's hard and tricky because as a marketer you have to realize (and keep realizing) that the blogger and his/her audience come first and your brand comes second.
If you get it wrong, it's even less effective than traditional advertising.
